【Complete Production Process Revealed】Customer Photo Recreated! Full Record of a Custom-Made Production
✨ The Miracle Born from Artisan Skill! Doll Costumes from Photos ✨
We created a completely custom-made costume for a Tokyo Doll 40 (40cm tall) based on a character photo sent by the customer. The original pattern, absolutely impossible to obtain commercially, was reproduced at a specialized printing factory. All 8 items, from the intricately shaped dress to the delicate accessories, were completed exactly as shown in the photo. We are now revealing the entire production process, from paper pattern creation to final finishing.
【Production Item Details】 (All produced with the same pattern and texture as the photo)

The commissioned costume uses original patterns on most parts, including the bodysuit, dress, socks, and shoes. Since this fabric is not commercially available, we create print data with a computer and have the fabric printed at a fabric printing factory to prepare the materials. It takes about 1 to 2 weeks for the fabric to be completed after sending the print data to the fabric printing factory, so we do this work first.
The dress for this costume has a very complex shape, so first, we will disassemble the dress into flat patterns. While looking at the character drawing sent by the customer, we will create each of the flat patterns using paper material. ☟
We attach the paper patterns to the doll and adjust the shape. ☟
Once the paper material is confirmed, we then create each part using temporary fabric material. ☟
We attach the fabric pieces to the doll and make final adjustments to the shape.☟
Now that the shape of all fabric parts has been determined. Next, we will create the print data to send to the printing factory. We will draw the pattern data on top of each part of the bodysuit, dress, and socks using a computer, referring to the character's drawing. ☟
Not all patterns are visible as flat surfaces in the photo. For the hidden, unseen parts, the designer adds imagination and draws them in to create flat data. The more complex the pattern and the more hidden parts there are, the more difficult it becomes to digitize. ☟
Once the print data is created, it is sent to the printing factory. The fabric with the design pattern will be ready in about 1 to 2 weeks. ☟
The bodysuit has been sewn together. ☟
The back side has this shape. ☟
The socks have been sewn together. ☟
Next, we will create the dress. ☟
The dress with the cute ribbon on the chest has been sewn together. The choker for the neck is also complete. ☟
We will create the head ribbon. ☟
The handband is also complete.
From here, we will produce the shoes. First, we will create the shape of the base part of the shoes. ☟
We put them on the doll and fine-tune the size. ☟
We will create the ankle part. ☟
We paint the base part of the shoes and integrate it with the ankle part. ☟
