🎨 Complete Reproduction of Patterns with Digital Technology
The most distinctive feature of this work is the precise tracing and digitization of character-specific patterns from the illustration provided by the customer using a computer, and then directly printing them onto fabric. The unique patterns applied to the coat and cape were meticulously analyzed for line thickness, color shades, gradations, and pattern continuity from the original artwork.
During the digitization process, after scanning the illustration, color correction was performed using image editing software. To prevent patterns from becoming crushed or indistinct when scaled down to doll size, resolution was optimized, and the position of repeating patterns was adjusted repeatedly. Before printing, multiple test prints were conducted to confirm color reproducibility. Printer settings were finely tuned until the colors matched the customer's image.
After printing on fabric, patterns were cut while calculating the direction and arrangement of the patterns. Millimeter-level positioning was performed to minimize pattern misalignment at seams. Special attention was paid to the symmetry of the back and sides of the cape and the continuity of the pattern between the sleeves and body of the coat, ensuring a beautiful appearance from any angle.
🧵 The Culmination of Authentic Sewing Techniques
All 16 items incorporate authentic sewing techniques used for real human clothing, scaled down to doll size. The shirt's collar is shaped three-dimensionally with interlining, and buttonholes are precisely placed on the placket. Cuffs and hems are finished with a triple fold, and seams are carefully processed from the inside to prevent them from showing on the outside.
The vest adopts three-dimensional tailoring that follows the body line. Darts and tucks are appropriately placed, and the pattern is designed to ensure a beautiful silhouette when worn. Seam allowances for the placket and side seams are ironed flat, and a lining is added to conceal the seam allowances.
The coat is authentically tailored with a lining, with no compromise on details such as pocket bags, collar turns, and shoulder seam reinforcement. Buttons and buttonholes are precisely aligned to ensure smooth opening and closing. The trousers have an elastic waistband while maintaining the appearance of a belted design, and the inseam and hem seams are reinforced with double stitching to prevent fraying during movement.
The cape is designed with detachable shoulder and neck connections to increase posing freedom. It is designed to ensure beautiful drape at the hem, taking into account the weight and thickness of the fabric.
✨ Thorough Attention to Detail in Accessories and Decorations
Accessories such as the eye mask, ear clips, hair ties, arm belt, arm covers, belt, gloves, waist decoration, ring, and leg belt were also produced with the same quality as the main costume. Recognizing that these small parts are crucial elements that highlight the character's individuality, we excluded any compromise.
Metal parts and miniature hardware are functional. The fasteners on the arm belt and leg belt can be opened and closed, allowing for fine adjustment of the wearing position. The waist decoration has a three-dimensional structure combining chains and charms, reproducing even the swaying motion. The ring is meticulously crafted to fit the doll's finger size without compromising its design.
The gloves are five-fingered and beautifully finished down to the fingertips. Seam allowances are finished on the inside to prevent them from showing on the outside, minimizing discomfort when worn. The shoes have thickened soles to ensure self-standing ability, and the stitching and stitchwork around the opening are carefully applied.
🎯 Perfect Fitting and Mobility
Based on the body data of the Super Dollfie SDGrb (approx. 62 cm tall), shoulder width, chest circumference, waist, inseam, sleeve length, and hem length were precisely measured. The doll's range of motion (shoulder, elbow, waist, and knee joints, etc.) was analyzed in detail, and the pattern was designed to prevent pulling or wrinkling at the joints.
Especially for layered items like coats and capes, the thickness of the clothing worn underneath was also taken into account, and enough room was provided to avoid tightness. On the other hand, for close-fitting items like vests and shirts, a delicate balance was sought to prioritize fit while not hindering movement.
Multiple fittings and fitting tests were conducted, with adjustments repeatedly made while dressing the doll and posing it. As a result, both ease of wear and aesthetic appeal were achieved, with the costume naturally following the body regardless of the pose.
🌈 Optimal Material Selection
Optimal fabrics and auxiliary materials were carefully selected according to the characteristics and roles of each item. For shirts and vests, thin, slightly stretchy fabric was used to follow the body line while not hindering movement. For coats and capes, medium-weight fabric with appropriate drape was adopted to combine vibrant pattern printing with a beautiful fall.
For gloves and arm covers, skin-like texture materials were chosen to minimize discomfort when worn. Synthetic leather and metal parts were used for belts and decorations to ensure a luxurious feel and durability. All materials are resistant to fading and losing shape, and possess quality that can withstand long-term use.
